Ibn Umar reported radiallahu anhu: When the Muslims came to Medina, they gathered and sought to know the time of prayer but no one summoned them. One day they discussed the matter, and some of them said: Use something like the bell of the Christians and some of them said: Use horn like that of the Jews. Umar said: Why may not a be appointed who should call (people) to prayer? The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: O Bilal, get up and summon (the people) to prayer.
It was narrated from Abdullah bin Masud that the Messenger of Allah May Allah bless him and grant him peace said There is no permissible envy except in two cases A man whom Allah has given wealth and caused him to dispose of it in a proper manner, and a man to whom Allah has given wisdom, and he acts in accordance with it and teaches it to others.rdquo

Narrated Ibn Mas`ud radiallahu anhuAllahaposs Messenger peace be upon him said, quotThe call for prayer Adhan of Bilal should not stop anyone of you from taking his Suhur for he pronounces the Adhan in order that whoever among you is praying the night prayer, may return to eat his Suhur and whoever among you is sleeping, may get up, for it is not yet dawn when it is like this.quot
