Muslim Religious Administration of Crimea announced the results of the All-Crimean competition “Young Architect”, initiated by the Muftiate. The competition started this year at the end of July, and more than 20 works were sent to the competent jury. The experts selected four sketches of the projects that participated in the final.

The task of the contestants was to develop a concept and architectural and planning solutions with elements of the Crimean Tatar style for the construction of a Muslim religious building - a mosque. The competition was aimed at determining the best outline design of a mosque, as well as to preserve and popularize the Crimean Tatar architectural style, and stimulate the further creative activity of architects.

The jury consisted of the deputy mufti of Crimea Ayder Ismailov, head of the construction and land affairs department of the Crimean Muftiate, representative of the State Unitary Enterprise “Crimea Project Restoration” Shukri Khalilov, head of “Development Industry” Ltd. Enver Emiradzhiev, deputy director of the Bakhchisaray historical and cultural reserve Rustem Eminov.

During the final stage of the competition, the finalists presented sketches of their projects. The projects of mosques were presented to the jury, in which young architects used various styles - Ottoman, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and even high-tech. Each project had its originality, individual vision. Young specialists have demonstrated a high level of knowledge in the design of religious buildings, taking into account features and specifics of the region.

According to the results of the final stage, the jury defined the winner. They became a practicing architect Alim Valitov.

The Mufti of Crimea handed Alim Valitov a prize from the Crimean Muftiate and the Crimean Hajj tour company a ticket to minor Hajj (Umra) to Mecca and Medina.
